Raymond Brecht's Obituary
age 60, of Crosby, North Dakota (originally from Lakeview and Barryton, Michigan), passed away on August 24, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Crosby. Raymond was born February 17, 1955 in Carson City, the son of Andrew Boyd and Shirley Mae (Stevens) Brecht. He was raised in Fenwick and Barryton, MI and graduated from Chippewa Hills High School Class of 1973. Raymond attended Mid Michigan Community College. He was working in the Oil Fields with gas production while he lived in Michigan. He was employed as a CNC Technician for the government in Muskegon and the government in Grand Prairie, Texas (making Apache airplane and helicopter military parts). He was self employed working in Oil Fields in North Dakota. Raymond married Cheryl Ann Stearns on October 8, 1993 in Niagara Falls, New York.
Raymond enjoyed many hobbies, such as, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, exploring lighthouses, mushroom hunting, farming, tractors. He loved being outside, and frying fish with family and friends, and shopping at Cabela's.
Raymond will be deeply missed by his wife Cheryl Brecht; children Gary (Andrea) Brecht, John (Melissa) Brecht, Jessica (Matt) McLean, Lindsay (Ryan) Wall, Curtis (Tia) LaCombe, Robert Rose (Trisha Rowley), Shanna (Michael) Harrington; 27 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers Mike (Paula) Brecht, and David Brecht; two sisters Kathy (Tim) Coady, and Kristine (Rick) Outman; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father Andrew Brecht; father and mother-in-law Wilber "Bill" and Lois Stearns; and grandson Gage Thering.
Funeral services for Raymond will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at New Life United Methodist Church following the service. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date on Sept 17, 2015 at the Assembly of God in Crosby, ND. with Pastor Dennis officiating, with a luncheon following at Just Jude's.
