Rena Floy Merrill's Obituary
Rena Floy Merrill, age 82 of Remus passed away Wed., Nov. 18, 2015 at her home. Services will be held Sat., Nov. 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at Janowicz Family Funeral home in Remus with Pastor Richard Eldred officiating. The family will receive friends on Fri., Nov. 20, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Sat. from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Burial will follow at Pine River Cemetery, Blanchard.
Rena was born Sept. 27, 1933 in Blanchard, the daughter of Clifton and Flora (Maxon) Oberlin. She was an active woman in her younger years when she enjoyed snowmobiling and riding motorcycle. Rena was a great cook and was frequently asked for her recipes. She made her family fudge every year around Christmas, which was her favorite time of year.
Feisty, loving, welcoming and a great sense of humor were all words used to describe Rena. She will be remembered by many for her ability to make everyone feel like family.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nona Sellers and Violet (Ronald) Welsheimer; sons, Duane (Diane) Pendell, David (Linda) Pendell and Danny (Gina) Merrill; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
Rena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew Merrill in Sept. 2014 and one sister, Ethel Moore.
