Renee Lynn Mayhew's Obituary
Renee Mayhew, age 43, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away April 6th, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on October 21, 1982, in Reed City to the parents of Thomas Garvon and Janet Adams.
Renee is survived by both her parents; her two sons, De’Antae and Donovan; sister Kathy; her nieces; and a nephew. Renee was predeceased by Jane Ford, her grandmother.
Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of our beloved family member, Renee, who brought so much light and strength to everyone she met. Renee had a quirky love of pigs started at a young age. She always wanted to have a pet pig, but ha to settle for knick-knacks, stuffed animals, and so much more. Renee devoted her life to her two sons De’Antae and Donovan. She was a single mother most of her children's lives but made sure they had everything they could ever need or want. Even after Renee's health declined, she would put her boys ahead of everything else to make sure they had great adventures and memories.
Renee volunteered in the community to raise awareness for our family’s kidney disease. She brought help to others by doing charity races and helping sign up volunteers to be organ donors. Renee has shown all her family, friends, and acquaintances the absolute strength of will she had in the last decade dealing with her everyday life and struggles with health. She never let it bring her down and instead focused on pushing through the hard times in their lives. Renee will be missed by all.
A celebration of Renee’s life will be held May 16th, 2026, at 1pm, at Chase Township Hall. Lunch will be provided. Care and arrangements are entrusted to Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
