Renee Ann Mohnke's Obituary
Renee Ann (Bordano) Mohnke, 68, of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids after a short illness.
She was born September 16, 1950, in Wakefield, Michigan the daughter of Steve and Doris (Anderson) Bordano. She graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1968 and earned her Medical Assistant degree from the Professional Business Institute of Minneapolis in 1970.
Renee is survived by her son Steve Nanasi of Big Rapids; her daughter Jennifer (Nathan) Chiles of Grand Rapids; two granddaughters, Luca and Olivia; one grandson Theo; her cherished sister Mary (John) Fernandez and brother David (Amy) Bordano; her wonderful Mohnke stepfamily; and her beloved dog Miley. She was preceded in death by her mother Doris (Bordano) Richards, her father Steve Bordano, and her beloved husband Ronald Mohnke.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the caring staff at Spectrum Health Butterworth. She is forever in our hearts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019 at St. Paul's Campus Parish in Big Rapids with Father Michael Burt as celebrant. Burial will follow at Hungerford Cemetery. Renee's family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Renee's final wishes were that memorial contributions be made to the Mecosta County Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
