Richard Odis Brantley's Obituary
Richard "Rick" Odis Brantley went to rest on Monday, November 1, 2021 in Traverse City, Michigan. Rick was born on May 15, 1965 in Alma, MI to William and Sandra Brantley. He was raised in Riverdale, MI and graduated from Vestaburg High School in 1983. After graduating, he pursued a career in construction and grew to be a skillful carpenter. During his years of working construction, Rick discovered his love for driving truck and went on to spend many years on the road. Later Rick enjoyed a career in golf course landscaping where he took great pride in his work.
Rick married the love of his life Shannon Dobson on September 12, 1992 and they built their life together in Riverdale, MI. Rick treasured his two children and granddaughter with his whole heart. He enjoyed many years of dirt bike riding, hunting, and fishing both near home and in the U.P. at his cabin.
Rick is survived by his wife of 29 years Shannon Brantley of Riverdale, MI; children Briana (Phillip) Lieby of Shepherd, MI; Ryan (Ashtin) Brantley of Riverdale, MI and granddaughter Annelise "Sweetie Pie" Brantley. He is also survived by his parents, William and Sandra Brantley of Riverdale, MI; siblings Bill Brantley of Riverdale, MI and Julie Clayburn of Berrien Center, MI; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Rick will be held at Community Church: Alma on Friday, November 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cory Herthel officiating. Interment will follow in the Sibley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore MI on Thursday, November 4th from 6-8 p.m.
