Richard "Dick" John Stickler's Obituary
Lakeview - Richard "Dick" John Stickler, age 83, of Lakeview passed away at his home on Friday, December 2, 2022. He was born in Lakeview on February 6, 1939, the son of John and Ellen (Rose) Stickler. Dick was raised in the Remus area where he attended Remus Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 1957. He was employed by the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company as well as the Mecosta County Sheriff's Department for over 30 years before his retirement in 1999. Dick married the love of his life, Joyce Ann Taylor on October 24, 1959, in Lakeview. He enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, camping, and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Six Lakes. Dick was respected and well known in the community, as a great man with a big heart. He will forever be missed by his family and friends.Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce of Lakeview; 2 daughters, Kathy (Donald) Pellow of Sidney, Kristy (Mark Jr.) Taylor of Lakeview; grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer)Pellow of Lake City, Jessica (Jordan) Oberlin of Six Lakes; step-grandchildren, Ashley Taylor of Grand Rapids, Jared (Keelie) Taylor of Lakeview; great-grandson, Logan Pellow; step-great-granddaughter, Karsen Taylor; sisters, Delores Raglin and Carol Childres both of Blanchard.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ellen; and brother, Robert Stickler.A celebration of Dick's life will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Richard Taylor speaking at 2:00 PM.Those wishing to donate in Dick's memory are asked to consider the Mecosta County Sheriff's Posse.
