Richard Lane's Obituary
Stanwood-Richard Lane, 94, a life long resident of Stanwood, passed away on July 21, 2010 at Metron nursing home in big Rapids after a lingering illness. He was born October 13, 1915 in Big Rapids the son of James Harley and Clara (Tonkin) Lane. He was a farmer and also retired machinist from Hanchett Manufacturing after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and the outdoors. In 1939 he married Helena Ebel who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry (Christine) Lane of Stanwood, Bruce (Beverly) Lane of Cedar Springs, Michigan; one sister, Shirley Marsen of Holly, Michigan; sister-in-law , Virginia Lane of Stuart, Florida; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Robert and sister, Lois Buck. Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no services. Burial in Highland View Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Richard may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
