Richard G. Moore's Obituary
Big Rapids Richard G. Moore, 68, of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 18, 1940, in Big Rapids, the son of Harry D. and Clara Belle (Turk) Moore, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1958. From 1963-1965, Dick served with the United States Army in Korea. Following his discharge, he returned to Big Rapids, and worked for several years at the Gambles Store. More recently he had worked for the City of Big Rapids at the Water Filtration Plant. Dick loved to attend auctions, and made many new acquaintances while burning the road. Surviving are his mother, Clara Belle Moore of Big Rapids; 2 brothers, Tom (Connie) of Big Rapids and Cody, WY, and Jim (Katy) of Big Rapids; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his special nephews David and Eric (Jen); and special friends Mike and Sandy Enser and their children Kendra and Blake. His father Harry preceded Dick in death in 2002. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Charles Hewlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Plains Cemetery in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions for the Mecosta County Commission on Aging may be left in care of the funeral home, where Dicks family will greet friends after 11:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
