Obituary
Lakeview - Richard Lee Vanderlip, age 87, of Lakeview, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at United Memorial Kelsey Hospital Long Term Care in Lakeview. Richard was born on May 7, 1930 in Greenville, MI, the son of Leo and Bertha (Skinner) Vanderlip. He was raised in the Gowen and Trufant area and graduated from Greenville High School Class of 1948. Richard was employed as a Tool & Crib operator for Federal Mogul for over 34 years and was an antique business owner for 22 years. He enjoyed garage sales, antiques, hunting, fishing, spending time with friends and family, and loved casino trips all over the country.
Richard was preceded in death by his 1st wife Norma Hope (Whinnery) Vanderlip, and 2nd wife Carolyn (Alles) Vanderlip; parents Leo and Bertha Vanderlip; brother Roger Vanderlip; and one sister Phyllis Nielsen.
Richard will be deeply missed by his children Christine (Terry) Faye of Grand Rapids, Cheryl (Bruce) Peterman of Tennessee, Robert Vanderlip, and Kevin Vanderlip both of Gowen; three step-children Doug, Dennis, and Linda; one sister Sharon Alger of Greenville; special friend Donna Sheler of Lakeview; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews.
