Rick Dwayne Bellingar, family man and friend to everyone, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was 72 years old. Rick was born August 4, 1948, the son of Dwayne and Margaret (Sandbrook) Bellingar. He m Read Obituary

We are all so saddened by the dearth of Rick. The 9 years that we spent on Scenic Lake as next door neighbors will never be forgotten and hold a special place in our hearts. We are lucky to have developed such a great friendship that has remained strong over the years even after we moved to California.
Jerry and I have been talking about the many memories that we have of Rick, and by living next door, Rick always provided good ones. Jerry recalls the first day he met Rick and Yo, to talk about buying your lot next door. We are so happy you said yes and Jerry brought along a 12 pack of Miller lite to seal the deal. Later Rick always tells the story that he would have done it for a six pack! Yo, I remember our many yard projects and our friendship tree that moved to Mecosta with you. I remember one of your projects where you had bought some gallon shrubs for the yard and asked Rick to plant them for you while you ran an errand. Yard work was not one of RIck's favorite things to do, and when you returned, he had planted the shrubs, containers and all in the ground!
Rick and Yo introduced us to the "Wishing Well" tradition on scenic lake. This involved Rick and Yo picking us up in their pontoon, usually in the middle of the night, and delivering the decorated wishing well to back yards and sometimes to the top of the neighbors roof!
Rick made sure to introduce Jerry to his many friends and always had a kind word for everyone. Rick and Yo were instrumental in making us feel a part of the Scenic Lake family. Rick was a wonderful neighbor to everyone. During winter storms he was up early to not only plow our driveway but many of the other neighbor's as well. This pandemic prevents us from being with you for support at this sad time but know as you honor and grieve for Rick, he will live forever in all our hearts. Sending our love and prayers to you all. We had some fun adventures with my former his and and Rick and To. One was watching Ervin Johnson from Everette play in 9th grade. God Bless and keep all of you during this time of sorrow. This is Debbie Sykes formerly Debbie Fish. I want to share some memories of your husband and father. You see I am the oldest girl cousin in the Sandbrook Family. My first memory of Rick was having to stay with them for a week in the summer. Your dad and uncle Vic were in high school and wanted nothing to do with me. I loved sleeping in one of of their bedrooms on Autumn lane because they had Horse Piggy Banks. Also I thought your dad was so cool because he had his buzz cut and a light tan Mustang.
Then I remember Vietnam came and both did not go over there and how relieved the family was. Then came 1967 and you Mom and Dad got married. I just thought they were the most perfect couple. To me it was a fairytale wedding. My sister was the flower girl in the wedding. I was jealous of her aqua dress. How beautiful it all was.
I remember your Mom driving up Christmas Eve by herself with Jaime in a very dangerous blizzard for the Sandbrook Christmas and how my mom and Aunt Virg were ready to tackle your father for letting her come by herself. I also remember how you and Rick were such a team Yolanda. Such a wonderful example for all if us.
Jaime I remember when you were born how excited your dad was yet nervous. Girl...he did not know how to raise a girl but he was so proud and excited to be a dad. You were perfect.
Laurie you were born next. Your dad was even more nervous about raising two girls but he kept saying how beautiful you were and was glad you had arrived.
Andy you came next. Your dad was so excited and relieved. Finally a boy. He knew what to do with those. You would carry on the Bellinger name. He walked on air that day.
Finally Bruce you came and your dad was ecstatic. Two boys. Two Bellingers to carry on the name. He was over the moon.
So Yolanda, Jaime, Laurie, Andy and Bruce my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kathlyn Parker posted a condolenceAs saddened as I am, what I will remember the most about Rick , Rick loved Yo…the dynamic duo. To me, Rick was a man who had an easy way about, him a calming ease of patience. Rick had a fun sense of humor, always let you talk and enjoyed a conversation; quick, meaningful…didn’t matter. Incredibly proud of his family; that was very clear. Eager to teach, share and revel in their successes and offered a quiet reassurance if things didn’t go as planned. What a blessing to you all having been truly blessed to have had such a unique and complete environment of strengths. I am certain he was incredibly proud of the people you’ve grown into and under his watchful eyes, I know the strength in family he instilled will continue.
I will miss sneaking into the boat house and liberating a beer, that was a fun game Chris and I enjoyed every summer. Anyway, as I think of Rick today and in the future, I will always grin, remember and be thankful we met.
