Rickey Paul Allen's Obituary
Lakeview - Rickey Paul Allen, age 60, of Lakeview, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his home with family by his side. Rickey was born on May 3, 1956 in Sheridan, Michigan, the son of Edsel Vance and Ruth Anna Kortes Allen. Rickey was raised in Lakeview and graduated from Lakeview High School Class of 1975. Rickey was employed by Federal Mogul as a Machine Operator for over 33 years until his retirement in 2011. Rickey married Janice Ellen Knapp in Belding on June 24, 1994. Rickey was an avid outdoorsman heart and soul. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, sports especially baseball, and football. He played Varsity Football for four years in high school. Rickey was Vice President of the Union at Federal Mogul for 4 years and then President of the Union for another four years.
Rickey will be deeply missed by his wife Janice Allen of Lakeview; children Rickey Jr. (Sara) Allen of Sault Ste. Marie, Rhonda (Nathan) Drews of Trufant, Steven Allen of Water Town, New York, James and Phillip Voorhees both of Greenville, and Brenda (Jeffrey) Clark of Lakeview; one brother Harold (Leesha) Allen of Lakeview; eleven grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews, and countless friends.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents Edsel and Ruth Allen; and one brother Don Kohl.
A celebration of Rickey's life will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI with Pastor Richard Shindorf officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. and from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. and on Monday, June 27, 2016 one hour before the service. A luncheon will follow the service in the Brigham Banquet Room.
