Rickland L. Scholz's Obituary
Rickland (Rick) L. Scholz, Sr., age 48, of Avondale, Arizona went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 19, 2012. He was born in Big Rapids on April 7, 1963, the son of Rex and Belle Ann (Stickney) Scholz. Rick grew up in the Big Rapids area and worked as a machinist at Michigan Knife for 15 years. Later he relocated to the Phoenix, AZ area where he owned a landscaping business. Rick was an active outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his beloved companion Jessica Daniel, his mother and step-father Belle Ann and Dick Lindsey of Big Rapids, his sons Rick (Lizette) Scholz of Houghton Lake and Brad (Jessica) Scholz of Big Rapids, step-daughters Darcy Crosby of Big Rapids and Crystal Crosby of Florida, grandsons Hunter Scholz of Houghton Lake and Braydon Scholz of Big Rapids, sisters Vicky (Chris) Byrne of Belding, Penny (Mike) Worthington of Big Rapids, step-sisters Tammy (Adolph) Flores of Grand Rapids, Tina (Mark) Seymour of Big Rapids, Brenda (Greg) LeButt of Grand Rapids, Stacy (Pete) Hector of Big Rapids, step-brother Chad Lindsey of Barryton, extended family Juan, Pelon and Adriana Daniel of Arizona, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Rex Scholz, grandparents Fred and Dorothy Scholz and Lee and Louise Stickney. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Mohnke Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. His family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or the American Cancer Society.
