Robert "Bob" Raymond Hansen's Obituary
Lakeview-Robert "Bob" Raymond Hansen, age 97, of Trufant passed away on November 5, 2020 at Lakeview Terrace. He was born in McBride on March 2, 1923 the son of Sam and Lena (Dennison) Hansen. Bob was raised in the McBride area where he attended school. He was an outstanding athlete who loved to play basketball and baseball and earned varsity letters. He was the president of his graduating class in 1941. He was employed on the family farm, as a truck driver, worked at road construction and as a foreman for Chrysler Corporation in Lyons before his retirement in 1979. Bob married Maxine Hammel in Lakeview on January 11, 1950 and they settled in Trufant where they raised their family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, construction and gardening. Bob was a past member of the Trufant Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. Thomas Lutheran Church. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Maxine; children, Karen Cameron of Grand Rapids, Robert R. (Kathleen) Hansen, Jr. of Old Say Brook, CT, Max P. (Marie) Hansen of Gowen; grandchildren Casey, Robert III (Ally), Tessa, Andrew (Nkamdu), Katie; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Peters of Mt. Pleasant, Edna Dyer of Westville; 2 sisters-in-law, Cleo Ruppel, Jackie Hansen; special friends, Ione Edison, Terry Howell, Luke Jensen, Pete Gorby; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lena; siblings, Lucille Hansen, Bernice Becker, John Hansen, Sam P. Hansen, Jr., Laraine Hansen, and 1 infant sister.
A private family service with Pastor Betsy Kamphius officiating will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
