Robert Lee Lint's Obituary
Robert Lee Lint, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born August 19, 1948, in Alma, MI, Robert was the son of William and Martha (Hatinger) Lint. He grew up with strong family values, graduating from Montabella High School in 1967. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army and bravely serving in Vietnam. His courage and dedication earned him both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart — honors he accepted with humility.
On October 3, 1970, Robert married the love of his life, Phyllis Gigowski. The couple made their home in Lakeview, where they raised their family with faith, love, and dedication. Robert enjoyed a successful career as a regional merchandise manager for Leppinks grocery stores, known for his dependability, work ethic, and leadership.
Deeply rooted in his Catholic faith, Robert was an active member of St. Michael Parish in Remus. He participated in the Ministry Formation Program for two years and was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion in Morley, and the VFW in Lakeview.
Robert’s greatest joy came from life’s simple pleasures: golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, camping at Higgins Lake, and working in the yard. He loved music, movies, word search puzzles, and, above all, treasured time with his family. He will be remembered for his generosity, caring nature, loyalty, trustworthiness, dedication, and his stubborn streak — which those who loved him knew was rooted in his determination and conviction.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis; children Angela (Stacey) Uebele, Anne (Steven) Bishop, Jen Cutter (Tony Leonard); grandchildren Wesley and Madison Bishop, Tyler, Evan, and Aubrie Uebele, and Ayden and Amylia Cutter; sister Rebecca Webb; brother-in-law Albert (Karen) Gigowski; sister-in-law Margie Gigowski; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian Lint.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus, with Father Michael as celebrant. Roberts family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church or Purple Heart Foundation. https://purpleheartfoundation.org/
Robert’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the unwavering love he gave to those around him.
