Robert L. Snider's Obituary
Robert Lawrence Snider passed away in the early morning hours of April 6, 2022. He was born in Remus, Michigan on May 14,1939. He was raised on a farm by his mother and father, Archie and Mary, and was the youngest of 9 children.
Bob graduated from Remus High School in 1957. In 1961 he married his devoted wife of 61 years, Nancy Bailes. He served in the United States Marine Corps, was a Kansas City firefighter, and was part of the Wheatland township E.M.S. In 1996 Bob retired from Hitachi Magnetics in Edmore, Michigan.
Together Bob and Nancy raised six children; Leonard, Robert, Nancy, Tina, Jeff, and Jeremy. Bob enjoyed an abundant family life full of humor and love. He helped his children excel in sports and extra curricular activities, even while working long hours to support and care for his family.
His hobbies were fishing, hunting, karaoke and tinkering in his garage. Most recently, he was restoring his father’s old farm tractor with his son Robert. Bob also enjoyed mowing his lawn. Unfortunately, many of Nancy’s flowers and plants did not survive his enthusiasm.
Bob is preceded in death by his mother and father, Archie and Mary (Greyczk) and siblings, Archie, Ron, Beatrice, Anna, Bertha, John, and Jim. He is survived by his wife Nancy and his children; Leonard (Angie), Robert, Nancy, Tina, Jeffrey (Karen), and Jeremy (Miriam), 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and sister Helen Simon.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12th at Janowicz Family Funeral Home from 4 to 6pm with a rosary service beginning at 4pm. A Mass at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church will be held Wednesday, April 13th at 11am with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Following Mass will a Marine Corps Honors ceremony.
