Robert C. Winkler's Obituary
Robert C. Winkler of Big Rapids, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012. He was born August 10, 1917 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the son of Albert and Lulu (Cleveland) Winkler. Bob was a life long resident of Big Rapids. He was a finish cabinet maker and retired as shipping supervisor from the Pine Shops Furniture Factory in 1974. Bob was a devoted Christian. He rarely missed attending church on Sunday, even when traveling around the country. He was a life member of the Odd Fellows. Bob is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Bill) Cronin of Standish, 5 grandchildren, Bill (Anne) Cronin Jr., Aleta, Michael, Bobby III and Bruce Winkler, 6 great grandchildren, Billy and Tara Cronin, Emily, Jessica and Danny Winkler, Trystan, plus several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, one daughter, Darlene and one son Bob Jr. also three brothers, Clyde, Kenneth and John Winkler. A graveside service for Bob will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. In case of inclement weather, the memorial service will be held at Third Avenue Methodist Church. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Mecosta County Commission On Aging.
