Obituary
Ronald Stanley Gibbons, age 74, of Edmore, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Ronald was born on April 4, 1943 in Lansing, the son Stanley Lee and Violet Alice (Jensen) Gibbons. Ronald was raised in Edmore and attended the Dobb School and graduated from Edmore High School. He honorably served his country as a Staff-Sargent in the Army National Guard until his retirement in 1988. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Ronald was employed as a press operator by Northland Refrigerator over 30 years and by the Soaring Eagle Casino over 5 years. He married Nancy Hockstra on June 12, 1965 at the M-46 Tabernacle in Vestaburg, MI. Ronald enjoyed gardening and hobby farming. He loved Traveling especially to Alaska.
Ronald will be deeply missed by four children Geanean Gibbons of Alma, Krystal Jones of Edmore, Karen (Robert) Davis of Edmore, and Drew Gibbons of Vestaburg; grandchildren Kyle, Lance, Charles, Ira, Ryan, Tabitha, Cheyanne, Robert, Qwenyth, and Sheldon; one great-grandson Landen VanConant; siblings Jeanette Shine of Boston, MA, and Lillian (John) Christofferson of Sidney; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Gibbons; parents Stanley and Violet Gibbons; daughter Marian Belleville; grandson Keith William Gibbons-Jones; and one brother Phillip Gibbons.
A Celebration in Ronald's memory will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Day Township Hall in Edmore, MI with Pastor Craig Hollenbeck officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service.
