Ronald Woodrow Kuitula Sr.'s Obituary
Ronald Woodrow Kuitula Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on January 12, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with no services to follow at this time.
Ron was born September 27, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Woodrow and Martha Kuitula. He graduated from Wayne State University with a masters degree in education. Ron retired from Northwestern High School in Detroit in June 2004, after 37 years of teaching.
On July 27, 1963, he married Joyce Marie Pirman and they had two sons, Ronald Jr. (Eileen) and Donald (Maria). They moved to Brownstown Twp., where Ron was president of the Taylor Hockey Association, and coached both of his sons' hockey teams.
In 1998, Ron and Joyce built their retirement home in Canadian Lakes on Lake Laura where they enjoyed golfing, boating and going out to dinner every Friday night with their friends, Jim and Gail Ankofksi, Chat and Darlene Phatharaphak and Mary and Norm Klebba.
One thing everyone knew, Ron loved his 5 grandchildren, Martha, Mason, Alice, Sylvia and Ronald III. A trip to Kings for Ice Cream with them was his favorite thing to do. As an educator, he was very proud that his sons and grandchildren have all graduated or are attending universities. His loving and quiet nature will be deeply missed by his family, who he loved so much.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Douglas.
