Ronald Charles Pawlak's Obituary
Lakeview-Ronald Charles Pawlak, age 85, of Six Lakes passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 19, 2024. He was born to Charles S. and Gertrude (Lavendusky) Pawlak on June 9, 1939, in Jackson, MI, where he was also raised. Ronald attended Jackson St. Mary's School, graduating with the Class of 1957. He continued his education at Michigan State University receiving his bachelor's degree in architectural engineering. Ronald served in the National Guard from 1963-1969. He was self-employed as a construction engineer in the Lansing area for more than 25 years before his retirement in 2010. Ronald married Janet Prestler on February 27, 1965, at St. Johns Catholic Church in Jackson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and grilling, swimming, traveling the world and attending MSU sporting events. Ronald was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lakeview. Ronald will forever be missed and is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Janet Pawlak of Six Lakes; daughter, Dawn (David) Bucks of Lansing; sons, Tod Pawlak of Lansing, Gary Pawlak of Six Lakes; grandchildren, Tiffany, David, Cheyanne, Tabitha; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude Pawlak; great-granddaughter, Adrie; sisters, Dolores Niemczyk and Joan Karp. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 26, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales in Lakeview with Rev. James VanderLaan officiating. The family will greet friends for visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM with the Rosary at 6:30 on Sunday, August 25 at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
