Ronald "Ron" Paul Inman's Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Paul Inman, age 84, of Six Lakes passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Corewell Health Hospital in Greenville surrounded by his family.
He was born in Grand Rapids on June 29, 1941, to Floyd and Mildred (Buffum) Inman. Ron was raised in the Pierson area, graduating with the Class of 1960 from Howard City High School. While growing up on a farm, Ron developed a lifelong passion for horses.
He was employed by Gust Construction as a brick mason for many years. During that time while working at Kelsey Memorial Hospital he met Sheila Bucholtz who became his wife on June 11, 1966. Together they started a successful business, training racehorses until his retirement in 2014.
Ron was a hard worker, putting in long days working construction, baling hay or working with the horses late into the night. He enjoyed farming, spending summers at the racetrack and in his younger years snowmobile racing. In retirement they enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Ron will be remembered as a loving husband and father whose work ethic was unbeatable.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sheila Inman of Six Lakes; brothers-in-law, Rick Bucholtz, Kim (Lori) Bucholtz; sister-in-law, Leesa (Chris) Hodges; special nephew, Brian (Stephanie) Bucholtz as well as many more nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Lane Inman, parents, Floyd and Mildred; brother, Ted (and Sandy) Inman; nephew, Greg Inman.
Funeral services for Ron will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Lakeview. The family will greet guests from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Cato Township Cemetery.
