Rose Ann McDonough's Obituary
Lakeview-Rose Ann (Martin) McDonough, age 65, of Saranac passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was born on March 21, 1957, in Portland, IN, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Lucas) Martin. Rose was raised in Lakeview where she attended school, graduating with the Class of 1975. Throughout the years, she was employed by Ore Ida Foods in Greenville, Caledonia Schools as a lunch lady, and Farmers Insurance as a licensing agent, before her retirement in 2019. Rose enjoyed fishing, traveling, motorcycles, dancing, crafting, cooking, and spending time with her friends. She was an active member of the American Legion post 528 Woman's Club Auxiliary in Alto, serving as chaplain. Rose loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who she gave each a special nickname.Rose will forever be missed and is survived by her son, Ben (Elizabeth) Sorsen of Caledonia; daughter, Nichole (Nate) Baker of Lowell; step-daughter, Marlo (Rob) Orchard of Middleville; 4 grandchildren, Noelle (Gage Guzman), Norah Baker, Cooper and Taylor Sorsen; 2 step-grandchildren, Winston Harper, Cameron Orchard; brothers, John (Tammy) Martin of Albany, IN, Wayne (Helen) Iteen, Roger Iteen both of Lakeview; and former husband, George McDonough of Saranac.She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Sorsen in January of 1985; and her parents, Fred and Mary.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral chapel on Friday, December 2, from 5:00-7:00 PM.Those wishing to donate in Rose's memory are asked to consider the Alto American Legion Post #528, 6052 Linfield Ave. SE, Alto, MI 49302.
