Roy Laverne Finch's Obituary
Roy Finch, age 67, of Trufant passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was born in Alma on April 3, 1958, to LeRoy and Velma (Grover) Finch. Roy was raised in the McBride area and attended Montabella schools. He was employed as a maintenance man by Bandit Industries, PCA, and Sackett Potato Farms during his working years. Roy married the love of his life Cheryl Greenhoe on July 6, 1980, in Blanchard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, working on cars or fixing anything. Roy was an active member of the Sonshine Worship Center in Lakeview. He was proud to receive his license as an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Church. Roy loved his family deeply and cherished spending time with them. He will be remembered as a hardworking man, loving husband, father grandfather and a faithful servant of God.Roy will forever be missed and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl of Trufant; children, Michelle Finch-Anderson of Muskegon, Richard Finch of Edmore; grandchildren, Alexzander (Cortney) McLellan, Hunter McComb, Megann Finch, Brittinie (Kaleb) Hetzman, Kodie Finch; great-grandchildren, Aiden McLellan, Odin McLellan, Piper Hetzman, Greyson Hetzman, Casey Hetzman, Kayden Hetzman; siblings, Luella (Harry) Western, of Vestaburg, Onalee Moore of Atlanta, Wandalee Dolittle of Hillman, Joyce (LaVerne) Hansen of Edmore, Marilyn (Bill) Stoner of Alma; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Velma; brothers, Jerry and Dickie Finch.Funeral services for Roy will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Stephen Brigham officiating. Interment at Day Township Cemetery in McBride will follow. The family will receive guests on Monday, September 1, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral chapel.The family asks that any donations made in Roy's honor go toward the funeral expenses.
