Roy James Wilber's Obituary
Big Rapids Roy James Wilber, 89, of Morley passed away at Altercare of Big Rapids on Friday, December 11, 2009. He was born November 4, 1920 in Austin Township, the son of Thomas and Elsie (Ward) Wilber. Roy graduated from Morley High School in 1939. He hauled asphalt for Reith Riley and farmed.He loved his tractors, hunting, playing euchre and wintering in Florida. Roy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Norma, three daughters Judy (Ken) Schoenborn of Rodney, Janet (Jim) Rowland of Morley, Joyce Goltz of Croton, two stepdaughters, Susan Myers and Darlene Myers both of Grand Rapids. Also, surviving are two sisters Audrey Lyons of Stanwood and Gladys Harkins of Big Rapids, two brothers-in-law, Charles McDougal and Robert (Eleanor) Appel, and one sister-in-law, Shirley Appel, eight grandchildren, Kristi (Doug) Robins, Kimberly Roebuck, Charles Schoenborn, Tim (Terri) Rowland, Tom Rowland Don (Dawn) Goltz, W ink (friend, Brant) Goltz, Mike (Marie) 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his father and mother, his first wife, Josephine McDougal and a brother Ward Wilber. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Bill Routley and Pastor Dominic Tommy officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009. Burial will be at the Higbee Cemetery, Morley. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
