Russell "Kim" Griffus, 62, of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, peacefully at his residence. An honor squad detail will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Kim's name to AMVETS Post 1941 or Hospice of Michigan. He was born on April 25, 1953 in Saginaw , the son of Russell, Sr. and Carol (Rosser) Griffus. Kim worked as a journey man carpenter in California, Colorado and Detroit before returning to Big Rapids. He is survived by life friend, Linda Bula of Big Rapids, sister; Kathy Riley of Saginaw, Daughters; Shea Blanchard and Lizette Scholtz both of Big Rapids. Kim was an Active Life Member of the AMVETS Post 194,1 where he was chosen 2015 AMVET of the Year. He was also a member of the Stanwood Eagles, and the Indiana Sons of the American Legion. An honor squad detail will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Kim's name to AMVETS Post 1941 or Hospice of Michigan.
