Russell Jarvis Ward's Obituary
Lakeview-Russell Jarvis Ward, age 84, of Lakeview Michigan passed away with his beloved family at his side on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Spectrum Health Blodgett campus.
Russell was an avid fisherman and hunter. Russell loved all sports, playing and watching. He spent a lot of his free time in Frederic, Mi with his parents and family in his early years. Then as a young adult purchased his beloved cabin at Bear Lake making many memories with family, but most importantly fishing catching rainbow and brook trout, also fishing many streams in the area. In November of 1957 Russell married his high school sweetheart Marcia Ann Merlington.
In 1959 Russell was drafted by the United States Army, he was stationed at Fort Riley KS. He was put on special detail to shoot off the first honest john missile.
In 1960 Russell and Marcia welcomed their first child daughter Becky Lou Ward, in Junction City, KS. Soon to follow in 1962, their son Shane Kevin Ward was born in Lakeview, Mi.
Russell worked at the Lakeview Ford garage and Bollinger's. He also worked at Gibsons in Belding Mi for many years starting as a line man, becoming a foreman, then onto a second shift supervisor and quality control manager for many years.
Russell is survived by his loving wife, Marcia; his son, Shane (Thresa) Ward; his son in law, Steven Wright; granddaughter, Mandi (Anthony) Kruithoff; grandson, Micheal (Samantha) Wright; step grandchildren, Jennifer Ladanyi, Stephen (Andrea) Ladanyi; great-granddaughter, Madison Kruithoff; great-grandson, Kaleb Kruithoff, and great-granddaughter Kinsleigh Wright; step great-grandchildren Ayvah, Hayden, Aliyah and Addilynn Ladanyi.
Russell was proceeded in death by his daughter, Becky (Ward) Wright; his parents, Jarvis and Lucy Ward; and his in-laws, Ferris and Dorothy Merlington.
