Ruth Ann Lavender's Obituary
Edmore-Ruth Ann (Ehl) Lavender, age 82, of McBride passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Masonic Pathways in Alma, under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born on March 10, 1939, in Kalkaska County, the daughter of Paul and Eva (Potes) Ehl. Ruth attended Edmore High School and was active in band, cheerleading and basketball. She graduated with the class of 1958. Ruth married Walter Lavender on June 28, 1958. She was a mother and homemaker who loved her family, growing flowers and watching birds. Ruth was a faithful member of the Day Bethel Baptist Church where she enjoyed participating in group singing.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Walter of Edmore; son, Rodney (Maria) Lavender of Edmore; grandchildren, Rawson, Dmitriy and Jennifer Lavender; brothers, Wayne (Michelle) Ehl, Edward (Freda) Ehl, Charles (Sharon) Ehl; sister, Yavonne (Gary) Shirk; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edgar, Lyle, Wesley, Ronald and Paul Lee; sisters, Virginia Brand and Helen Hall.
Funeral Services for Ruth will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Day Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Hagerman officiating. Interment will follow at Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore. The family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00 PM at Day Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, August 7.
