Sallie Compson Horner's Obituary
Edmore - Sallie Compson Horner, age 80, of Edmore passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. She was born on April 21, 1945, the daughter of Jack and Edith (Gregaitis) Compson, in Remus where she was also raised. Sallie graduated from Remus High School with the Class of 1963. She continued her education at Central Michigan University earning a bachelor's and master's degree. Sallie was employed as a Language Arts and Typing teacher at Montabella and Remus High Schools, and later as a Computer Science Instructor at Montcalm Community College for a total of 35 years before her retirement. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore and was active in the United Women in Faith. Sallie married Eric Horner on January 18, 2015, in Edmore. She enjoyed reading, sewing, going to thrift stores and selling women's clothing on E-Bay.Sallie is survived by her husband, Eric Horner of Edmore; daughter, Jeana Brooks (Nolan) Little of Victor, MT; son, Josh (Latonia) Estill of Blanchard; 3 grandchildren, Hayley Estill Dover, Grant and Gracie Estill; great-grandson, Kaeden Dover; brother, Mike (Pam) Compson; nephews, Bodie (Lisa) Compson, Zac Compson, Justin (Leigha) Compson; niece, Brooke (Travis) Lint; sister-in-law, Cathy and her husband Thom.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Edith; and a brother, Doug Compson.A memorial service for Sallie is being planned for a later date.
