Obituary
Lakeview - Savila "Sally" Ida (Pitcher) Burns age 82, of Lakeview, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Spectrum Kelsey Long Term Care in Lakeview. Sally was born on June 19, 1935 in Mecosta, the daughter of Albert W. and Hazel B. (Kellogg) Pitcher. She was raised in the Mecosta area where she attended an old country school and Lakeview High School. Sally married Dale Eugene Burns on May 16, 1958 at Brockway Wesleyan Church. Sally worked as a nurse for more than 30 years. She started at Kelsey Hospital and later worked providing In Home Health Care and Private Duty Nursing. Sally enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, playing bingo, painting aretex, baking, canning, traveling and eating out.
Sally is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Dale E. Burns of Morley, 4 children, Roddy Burns of Stanwood, Renee Burns of Altona, Roger Burns of Lakeview and Robin Burns of Morley, 3 grandchildren, Jeremy (Missy)Burns of Morley, Kelly (Terry) Ruppert of Big Rapids, Shanna Eckert, 8 great-grandchildren, Christian, Hunter, Ethan, Zander, Aiden, Nolan, Destiny, and Steven, one brother, Edward Pitcher of Charlevoix, and two sisters, Viola Gritter of Kent City and Marlene Miller of Grand Rapids.
She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Hazel Pitcher, Her foster parents Will and Cora Chittenden, her daughter Rhonda Burns, two twin grandchildren, Nathaniel and Courntey Eckert, one brother Harold, and five sisters, Donna, Shirley, Peggy, Doris and baby Berniece, sister-in-law Ernestine Pitcher and brother-in-laws Preston Gritter and Donald Swank.
Memorial services for Sally will be Saturday, May 19,2018, at 2:00 PM, at Brockway Wesleyan Church on 3 Mile Rd., Morley.
