Sharlene Grace Hopp's Obituary
Sharlene (Pintler) Hopp of Entrican passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald Hopp of Lindsborg, Kansas, in 2002. She is survived by her two children, four grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Berneice Pintler, her brother, Dale Pintler, and her three sisters: Vivan Hey, Verdena Borup, and Shirley Hopp.Sharlene was born in the family home in Entrican and moved a half mile away when she married Don. The two built a life on a farm close to her sister, Vivian Hey's, farm. Sharlene was a stay-at-home mother, while her children were young. She was the Douglass Township Deputy Clerk for many years before becoming Clerk in 1988; she held this elected position for thirty years until she retired. The biggest achievement during her tenure was the construction of the new township hall in Entrican. Sharlene essentially lived and worked her entire life on the same half mile between her birth home and farm.There will be a private graveside service for family.Those wishing to send flowers are asked to send a memorial contribution to Entrican Bible Church for the new building. The church, located at 3899 Grow Rd NW; Stanton, is, as you may have guessed, in the same half mile.
