Sharon Faye Freeman's Obituary
Sharon Faye (Coral/Bannen) Freeman of Vestaburg and formerly of Stanton passed away on February 12, 2016, at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerrold; her son, Arvin Bannen; her sister Anna Mae (Bill) Clark, her grandchildren Brent and Brandi Bannen; great grandchildren Gavin and Bradin Bannen. She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Minnie (Allen) Corl; sister Charlotte Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Bonnie and Wayne Coral; and son Robert Neal Bannen.
Sharon was born on August 25, 1937, in Orleans, Michigan. She married Darrel Bannen, and in the next few years she had two boys: Arvin and Robert Bannen (deceased). Darrel passed away in 1960 due to a car accident. Sharon opened her own beauty shop in her home in Stanton to support her family. In later years, she did hairstyling for the elderly ladies in assisted living and nursing homes.
On April 15, 1967, she married Jerrold Edward Freeman. Sharon and Jerry enjoyed camping and fishing in Canada. Sharon also was a member of a bowling league. In 1979, Sharon lost her youngest son, Robert, 18 years old, as a result of a car accident. Her oldest son married in 1979 and a son, Brent, was born to this union. Her grandson, Brent, was her greatest joy. Later on Arvin was blessed with a daughter, Brandi. Brent was to be blessed with two boys, Gavin and Bradin, who loved coming over to Grandma and Grandpa's to ride the quads. Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In the last several years, Sharon suffered from Alzheimer's. When her condition worsened, she was admitted to the Memory Care Unit of Pathways, Mason Home, in Alma, Michigan where she resided until she passed away, February 12, 2016, at the age of 78.
Services will be held at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, Michigan. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, and the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17.
