Obituary
Edmore - Sharon Marie (Bennett) Jackson, age 71, of Sidney, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her home with family beside her. Sharon was born Sept. 16, 1947 in Stanton, the daughter of James and Lena Catherine (Isham) Bennett. The year Sharon was born, 1947, saw some of the most significant inventions that would impact lives for many years to come including the Transistor and the Mobile Phone. The start of the Cold War which lasted close to 4 decades. The average cost of a new house was $6,600.00 and average wages per year was $2,850.00. Sharon was raised in Stanton and attended Montabella Public Schools. She cleaned a government building in Kansas over 20 years and was a care giver for her special need's daughter and a few others throughout her life. Sharon's many hobbies included painting, drawing, playing the organ, yard sales and thrift stores, and her favorite color was yellow. She had a wonderful and funny sense of humor. She was outgoing, talented, loving, and was an amazing mom and sister. Sharon had shared with her family that Mother's Day this year was her best. She loved being with family and friends and had missed out on many family events while living in Scotts City, Kansas for over 30 years.
Sharon is survived in death by her husband Lee Jackson; children Leroy Sanborn of Fenwick, Tammy (Daniel) Pasch of Leslie, Kelly Strouse (Frank Hayslip) of Sheridan, Scottie (Suzette) Sanborn of North Fort Myers, FL, and Tanya Gorsuch of Riverdale; grandchildren Katie, Jasmine, Sharon, Jerry, Brandon, Jessy, Angel, Julie, Jenna, Brittany, Patrick, Jamie, Allison, Sam, Jessica, Justin, Brent, Scotty, Nicole, Heather, Dakota, Leroy, Dylan, Hunter, Kevin, Trenton, Keagen, Khole; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Kathy (Kenneth) Hancock of Stanton, and Jeanie (Paul) Nisonger of Stanton; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents James and Lena Bennett; one daughter Marie Sanborn; one great-grandchild Baby Dalton Aris; and one sister Linda Cowling.
A Celebration of Sharon's life will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, MI. Those wishing to make a contribution in Sharon's memory are asked to consider Brigham Funeral Chapel and donations can be made through the crowd funding tab on our website www.brighamfuneralchapel. A luncheon will follow the service at the Rebeka Hall in McBride, MI.
