Sharon Sue Woofter's Obituary
Stanwood - Sharon Sue Woofter, 62, of Stanwood, went to be with her Lord on April 8, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. She was born July 11, 1953, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Ray and Dorothy (Woolf) Culp. In 1971, Sharon graduated from Big Rapids High School, and then earned her degree from Ferris State University. For 34 years, she worked for Mecosta County Medical Center and Spectrum Big Rapids hospital. On June 25, 1988, she married David A. Woofter, who survives. Also surviving is their most wonderful daughter, Samantha (Codie) Nieder of St. Cloud, FL; her brothers Ken (RoseMary) Culp of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Doug (friend Deb) Culp of Grand Rapids; her sisters Carol (John) Keyser of St. Joseph, Pat (Tim) Newburn of Baldwin, and Sondra (Randy) Kramer; her father-and mother-in-law Denver and Lenore Woofter of Stanwood; uncles Melvin and Howard Woolf; aunt Marie Woolf; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Evelyn Beye. Memorial services for Sharon will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood, with Pastor Gary Bondarenko officiating. Sharon's family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the church or to the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home in Big Rapids.
