Shasta Rose Crabb's Obituary
Shasta Rose Bowser Crabb unexpectedly hummed her way into heaven on September 19th, 2025. Shasta found true love with Austin Adolphson and was planning a future with him and his children, Trevor and Lily. She leaves behind four fur babies, Sophie, Peyton, Grace, and Athos, who she affectionately referred to as The Crabb Dog Mafia. She was born on May 9, 1978 in Lakeview, Michigan, the youngest child of Steve and Teresa (Imhoff) Bowser. Her older sister, Sereva, was so excited to finally have a sibling, she went around to all the 2nd grade classes at Lakeview Elementary to announce she had a new baby sister. Shasta went to Lakeview Schools until the middle of 5th grade, when her parents moved to Tucson, Arizona. There she attended Amphi Schools and graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School. She was a scholarship student at the University of Arizona and a lifelong Wildcat. (Bear Down!) At the U of A, she earned a dual major degree in psychology and biology. She went on to obtain her teaching degree from Central Michigan University. A teacher by trade, Shasta touched the lives of thousands of children throughout her career in both Tucson and Michigan. Even her toughest students were won over, and many remained close to her long after they'd grown up. Her passions were the Arizona Wildcats, the Detroit Lions, and never wearing the same outfit twice in a school year. She was also deeply committed to animal rescue. She was a volunteer and foster dog mom for LuvnPupz in Wyoming, MI. (She was also a foster failure, which is how Grace, Peyton, and Athos became hers.)She is survived by her parents, Steven and Teresa Bowser, her sister and brother-in-law, Sereva and Kasey Ball, her niece, Oksana Ball, and nephews, Sasha (a. k. a Alexandr) Ball and Nikolay Ball. Her maternal aunts and uncles: Candace (Gary) Mizga, Holli (Pete) Trevino, Heather (Jerry) Rhead, Bridget (Rick) Johnson, Heidi (Todd) Young. Cousins: Kammy Mizga, Cory Mizga, Nikolas Gonzalez, Dominic (Jennifer) Trevino, R. Lee Gonzalez, Lee (Trisha) Trevino, Christian (Kristina) Johnson, Ashley Young, Logan Gonzalez, Sonni Marie Trevino, Chase (Lindsey) Young, and Pearce Rhead. Her paternal aunts and uncles: Linda (Monte) Ball, Robert Anand, Richard (Tonya) Bowser, Nancy Bowser-Compton, Sally Copeland, John Scott (Donna) Bowser. Cousins: Brody (Renee) Bowser, Chancey (Marty) Russell, Benjamin (Sarah Jo) Bowser, Sara (Rob) Spohn, Charles (Jessie) Bowser, Adam (Cari) Bowser, Nikkole Bowser, Justin Bowser, Serrina Bowser, Becky Bowser (Derek Abner), Bo (Tyler) Bowser, and numerous second cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lee (a. k. a Bud) and Rosemary Imhoff, and Harley and Ellen Bowser, her uncle, Lee Bowser, and her cousin, Sunshine Melody Wiggins. Shasta left us far too soon and will be missed beyond measure. A celebration of her life will be on October 11th from 3-6 p. m. at the VFW Hall, 506 S. Lincoln Ave, Lakeview, Michigan 48850. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to LuvnPupz in her memory. bit. ly/ShastaLuvnPupz
