Obituary
Lakeview - Shirley Ann (Herzog) Buskirk, age 82, of Six Lakes, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on January 24, 2018. Shirley was born on May 1, 1935 in Lakeview, the daughter of Earl and Ana (Silver) Herzog. She was raised in Six Lakes and graduated from Lakeview High School Class of 1953. Shirley married Robert "Bob" Buskirk on May 12, 1955, at Belvidere Methodist Church. Shirley was employed for 5 years by a restaurant in Six Lakes as a waitress. She was also employed by Lakeview Public Schools as a baker and kitchen aide selling snacks and candy bars for over 14 years. Shirley enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, craft shows, baking, traveling. She decorated cakes for years. Shirley and Bob enjoyed country music and were personal friends of the Presley singing group in Branson, Missouri. She loved watching grandchildren's sporting events, especially basketball. She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church and enjoyed the church quilting group and decorated the altar for years.
She will be missed by her husband Robert Buskirk of Six Lakes, two children Jean (Doug) Randall of Sand Lake, and John (Dawn) Buskirk of Sherwood, Ohio, grandchildren Dacia (Long) Ta, Jamie (Joseph) Price, Adam (Allison) Randall, Jeremy (Amanda) Buskirk, and Jared (Chelsea) Randall, ten great-grandchildren and one on the way, Grace, Norah, Martin, Jack, Luke, Amelia, Navy, Madison, Anderson, and Abigail, one sister Noreen (Bob) Badge of Trufant, several nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Ana Herzog, and one brother Neil Herzog.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with visitation at 10:00 AM, at New Life United Methodist Church with Pastor Sue Baab officiating. The family will greet friends at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 5 -8 PM. Contributions may be made to New Life United Methodist Church.
