Shirley Elaine Frandsen's Obituary
Lakeview-Shirley Elaine Frandsen, age 92, of Spring Lake, formerly of Lakeview, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, at her home. She was born on December 9, 1930, in Swink, Colorado, the daughter of Lewis and Dorothy (Williams) Buckley.In 1937, left alone, Lewis contacted cousins in Michigan. Cheerful and George Nimberger, along with their 4-year-old daughter Leone. The Nimbergers, said "come, make our home your home." With that, Lewis and children Jack and Shirley arrived to a happy home on the farm near Lakeview, MI. The siblings attended country school and later Lakeview Community School. Shirley graduated in 1948. She then began working as secretary in the superintendent's office. On August 30, 1951, she married Algar Frandsen. Algar was serving in the Army during the Korean War. He shipped out to Occupational Germany for the next year and a half. Upon his return Shirley left her job to become a homemaker and later caregiver to various family members. One daughter, Marcia Jean, was born in 1954. Algar and Shirley were active members of the Asbury and New Life United Methodist Churches.Shirley leaves brother, Jack (Deloras) Buckley of Jenison; son-in-law, Duane Tisdel; grandchildren, Mark (Krista) Tisdel, Darcie (Richard) Jackson; 9 great-grandchildren all of Spring Lake; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Algar; daughter, Marcia Tisdel; father, Lewis Buckley; George and Cheerful Nimberger; cousin-sister, Leone Whittum; sister-in-law, Virginia Christensen; niece, Linda Grommes.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 7, 2023, at New Life United Methodist Church in Six Lakes with Pastor Stephen Brigham officiating.The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Trufant Cemetery.Those wishing to make a donation in Shirley's memory are asked to consider New Life United Methodist Church.
