Shirley M. Graham's Obituary
PARIS - Shirley M. Graham, 93, of Paris, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015, at Evergreen Terrace in Big Rapids. Shirley was born December 9, 1921, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Hugh and Madge (Peepers) Thompson, and lived in the area most of her life. She attended elementary school in Paris, and high school in Big Rapids. During the 1970's, Shirley was head of housekeeping at Reed City Hospital. She was a longtime active member of the Paris United Methodist Church. On October 7, 1938, she married William Graham, who preceded her in death on November 4, 2001. Surviving are 3 children, Robert (Bernice) Graham of Reed City, Beverly Ellis of Hersey, Gary (Janalee) Graham of Linden; 7 grandchildren, Sherry (Loren) Merklinger, Mike (Erin) Ellis, Randy Graham, Ricky (Carol) Graham, Vicky Piper, Erin Graham, and Sarah Graham; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Shirley was also preceded in death by her sister Delores Hurst. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastors Kim DeLong and Mike Reigler co-officiating. Burial will be in the Davenport Cemetery in Paris. Shirley's family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 23, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and prior to services on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paris United Methodist Church or Great Lakes hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
