Shirley Huey's Obituary
Big Rapids â€" Shirley Ann Huey, 74, of Big Rapids, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at Altercare of Big Rapids surrounded by her family. She was born June 26, 1943, in Comstock Park, the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Kopenski) Swanson. Shirley loved horses, and for many years she boarded them. She was very talented at landscaping, and greatly enjoyed working outside, especially in her flower beds. Often, she went with her children rock-hunting, and had a real knack for finding pudding stones. Shirley also loved to draw. She will be dearly missed by her three children, Debbie (Elden) Harris of Big Rapids, Ron (Tina) Huey, and Penny (Jim) Esser, both of Morley; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Pauline Thomas of Rockford, Bonnie DePriest of Lowell, and John Swanson of Howard City; and several nieces and nephews. Her memories will forever be in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Crystal Ann Esser, and her sister Sharon Kay Bordeaux. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.    “May Shirley Rest in Peace in the Gardens of Heavenâ€
