Shirley Anne Namminga's Obituary
Shirley Anne Namminga, age 77, of Lakeview, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Shirley was born September 7, 1942 at her family's home in Ensley Center, the daughter of Gordon and Hazel Crispin Cook. She was raised in the Ensley area and graduated from Howard City High School class of 1961. Shirley married Norman Namminga on July 20, 1962 at the Ensley Center Baptist Parsonage. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, word searches and other puzzles, flowers and flower gardening, traveling and camping, and listening to country and gospel music. Her main love was for her family and spending time with them.
Shirley is survived in death by her husband Norm Namminga of Lakeview; two children Jim (Bonnie) Namminga of Santa Clarita, CA, and Julie (John) Wirtz of Sand Lake; grandchildren Allison (Brandon) King, Natalie Wirtz, and Hudson Namminga; great-grandchildren Abby and Brooke King; one sister Audrey (Lew) Johnson of Cedar Springs; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Hazel Cook, and grandson Brandon Wirtz.
The family will accept friends on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI.
