Stephen Dexter Sooter's Obituary
On August 22, 2023, Stephen Dexter Sooter passed away at the age of 76 in Sherman, Texas. Stephen was born February 11, 1947, in Muleshoe, Texas, to John and Mary (Ludwick) Sooter.
He graduated from high school and joined the United States Army, becoming a bronze star recipient. He worked most of his life as a Security Guard, always a protector of those around him.
Stephen married the love of his life, Dawn Hopkins and together they built a beautiful life of mutual respect and love. The two enjoyed reading books and even created a library in their home.
Stephen could often be found playing Dungeons and Dragons, and painting the figurines that went along with the game. He was a Sci-Fi movie fan and loved to watch them to pass time. Stephen had a loving, caring and outgoing personality and was an animal lover to his core. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Dawn Hopkins-Sooter and brother-in-law, Eric Hopkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father and mother-in-law.
