Terri Lou Melendez's Obituary
Lakeview - Terri Lou Melendez, age 69, of Six Lakes, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview, Michigan. Terri was born in Lakeview on November 1, 1952, the daughter of Leo and June (Eckert) Lemire. She was raised in Six Lakes by her mother June and her stepfather Lyle Kimball. Terri graduated from God's Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1971. Terri married Douglas "Wayne" Holmes on August 21, 1971, at the Six Lakes Bible Missionary Church. Terri then married Carlos Melendez on July 5, 2002, at the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church. Terri was employed as a secretary for Kelsey Hospital for four years. She also was the owner and operator of the Meadowview Adult Foster Care Home for thirteen years. Terri enjoyed playing the piano, music, singing, cooking, fishing, flowers, and gardening. She was a Mama Bear with her children. She taught music and was a teacher's assistant at Brockway Christian Academy. Terri attended the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church for many years.
Terri is survived in death by her husband, Carlos Melendez of Six Lakes; children, Kristina (Lynn Jr.) Maggert of Six Lakes, Harmoni Holmes of Six Lakes, Heidi (Nathan) Easley of Norris, South Dakota, and Zachary (Heather) Holmes of Lakeview; one step-son, Carlos D. Melendez; grandchildren, Jackson, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Gavin Holmes, Zachary and Silas Holmes, Ellie, Levi, Landon and Emmett Easley; one great-grandson Judah Holmes; her mother June Kimball of Six Lakes; siblings, Lynne (Dewey) Murray of Six Lakes, Jeff (Vicki) Lemire of Six Lakes, and Jon (Darla) Kimball of Louisiana; her best friend, Mary Imhoff; countless nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
Terri was preceded in death by her ex-husband Douglas "Wayne" Holmes, and her father Leo Lemire and step-father Lyle Kimball.
Funeral services for Terri will be on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church in Vestaburg, with Pastor Blake Jones officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the church.
