Thomas Mitchell Billings' Obituary
Thomas Mitchell Billings, Jr., age 81 passed away late Sunday evening, February 5, 2017 at The Laurels of Carson City. Tom was born on February 24, 1936 in Owosso, Michigan the son of Thomas and Virginia (Stinson) Billings, Sr. Tom was united in marriage to Sally Ann Lewis on September 22, 1984 in Winn, Michigan.
Tom worked for Lobdell Emery for 46 years; until his retirement in 1998. Tom had a passion for working in the garden and doing landscaping for extra income. He was a member of the Eagles Club. Tom was a family man, he enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. Tom always loved a party, or celebration; he was the life of every party. He loved karaoke, hunting, fishing, camping and always looked forward to the family reunions. Tom also enjoyed going to the casino; even more when he had great luck. But most of all Tom enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 32 years; Sally, his children; Pam (Joseph) Klees of Crystal, MI, Annette Billings of Elsie, MI, Thomas (Olivia) Billings of Colorado Springs, CO, Lucinda Sheltrown of Eaton Rapids, MI, Sandra (Jeff) White of Fulton, NY, Deanna (Brad) Simmet of Ithaca, MI, William (Caroline) Billings of Elsie, MI and Heather Lytle of Ithaca, MI; 59 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 6 sisters and 1 brother. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; step-father; Earl Skutt, daughter; Jessica Billings, grandson; Jeremy Klees, 2 brothers; Fred Billings and LeRoy "Al" Skutt and a nephew, Shane King.
Funeral Service for Tom will take place Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Brigham Funeral Chapel-Edmore, with Pastor Chris Bradshaw to officiate. Burial to follow in Richland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be take place Friday, February 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and again Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Wishes of the Billings Family.
