Thomas William Vargo's Obituary
Paris - Thomas W. Vargo, 79, of Paris, passed away Monday August 6, 2018, at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born November 14, 1938, in Detroit, the son of William and Catherine (DiGregorio) Vargo, and graduated from Southeastern High School in 1956. For many years, Tom owned and operated Sunnybrook Market in Detroit, and was also a long-time member of the Lion's Club there.
In 1992, Thomas married Marilynn (nee Vivian), and they moved to Paris in 2000, where they have lived since. He loved gardening and cooking for people, and Tom especially loved his dogs.
Tom is survived by his wife Marilynn; one daughter Heather; two sons, William and John; several grandchildren, and his former wife Nancy. He was preceded in death by his brother Russell and sister-in-law Bea.
Thomas's family will greet friends from 4 - 7 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, for a remembrance of Tom's life. Memorial contributions in his name may be made for Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), with envelopes available at the funeral home.
