Todd Lynn Nielsen's Obituary
Lakeview-Todd Lynn Nielsen, age 61, of Blanchard, passed away surrounded by his family on September 14, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on December 28, 1957 in Lakeview, the son of Jerome and Vera (Williams) Nielsen. He was raised in Lakeview and graduated from Lakeview High School with the class of 1977. Todd married his high school sweetheart, Janet Hall, and they spent over 40 years together before her passing in April of this year. He worked his whole life as a sales representative for Tipton, Mississippi Valley Stihl, and MJ Miller Combined Companies, which took them to Iowa for fifteen years and then back to Michigan. Todd was a dedicated father who was always there for his children and grandchildren. He was a "people person" and had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed playing guitar, golfing, going to the casino and spending time at Wolf Lake in Baldwin with family.
Todd is survived by his children, Julie (Steven) Snyder of Six Lakes, Eva (Brett) Spedoske-Campbell of Shepherd, Jared Nielsen of Stanton and Alex (Meggan) Ballard-Nielsen of Blanchard; ten grandchildren, Bailey, Robert, Carlee, Laila, Jack, Laine, Henry, Spencer, Gracie and Brody; his mother, Vera Nielsen of Lakeview; 2 sisters, Andrea Sue Nielsen of Mt. Pleasant and Toni Rae Sergeant of Portage; his dog, aka: "Kitty Kitty" or "Scooch" and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Janet Nielsen in 2019; and his father, Jerome Nielsen in 2001.
A celebration of Todd's life will be Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI. A banquet will be open to all through the entire event. Those wishing to contribute in Todd's memory are asked to consider the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDRF).
