Tony Lee Young's Obituary
Tony Lee Young, age 58, of Coral, MI passed on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at MediLodge of Grand Rapids. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI, October 21, 1964, the son of Jerry and Natalie (Walldorff) Young. Tony was raised in the Coral area where he attended Lakeview Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1983. As a teenager, you could find him participating in the National FFA Organization and working at Sandyland Farms which nurtured a strong work ethic. Tony went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Heating and Cooling from Ferris State University in 1985. After graduating from college, Tony pursued his passions for heavy equipment and farming through years of employment with AIS, United Rentals, Grant Rent All, Nelson's Speed Shop, Bader and Sons Co., and Porter Farms. He took pride in his commitment and personal approach with his customers, building career and life long relationships.Tony at heart was a farm boy and a doer. He continually shared his passions with his family and friends through gardening, teaching his children and others tips and tricks on operating various pieces of equipment, and putting on a show here and there. He held a special gift in encouraging others and sparking their confidence to make these passions their own. Tony was most well known for being a dedicated father and a dependable friend. He was the kind of guy that meant it when he said he would help in any way he could. This cultivated many fond friendships, conversations, laughs, and memories.In his later years, Tony spent his days mowing lawn, landscaping, creating in the woodshop, and studying health and nutrition. He had great ambitions to share his knowledge, to encourage friends, family, and the next generations to live a full and healthy life. Tony's favorite pass time was telling stories to anyone that would lend an ear and making others laugh with his never ending list of dad jokes.Tony is survived by his children, Ryan (Frankie) Harrington of Stanwood, MI, Alex Young of Howard City, MI, and Morgan Young of Grand Rapids, MI; father, Jerry Young of Grand Rapids, MI; siblings, Eric Young (Julia) of Middleville, MI and Ellen (Lee II) Markel of Rockford, MI; former partner and friend: Michelle Young of Rockford, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.He is preceded in death by his mother, Natalie Young.Services will be held at a later date.Those wishing to donate in Tony's memory are asked to consider a donation to the National FFA Organization and/or an organization of your choice dedicated to children.Condolences can be made by utilizing the guest book at www.brighamfuneralchapel.com
