Treva Mae Owen's Obituary
Big Rapids - Treva Mae Owen, 82, of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully Friday, January 15, 2021, at her home.
She was born October 11, 1938, in Stanwood, the daughter of Byron and Adora (Ressegoye) Lindsey, and lived in the area her entire life. For 45 years Treva worked in childcare, the last 10 of those years at Ferris's Tot's Place. A long-time member of AmVets Post #1941, Treva served as past president of the AmVets auxiliary and also as club manager.
Treva was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2001. She is survived by her children, Floyd (Sun) Owen of Big Rapids, Mike Owen of Stanwood, Mark (Pam) Owen of Mt. Pleasant, and Karen Declan of Paris; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her 3 sisters, Sandy (Rob) Werner of Mecosta, Terry (Ed) Gilmore of Rodney, and Marie Mishler of Big Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. Treva was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Sara, her brothers, Ron, Dick, and Frank Lindsey, and an infant great-granddaughter.
Cremation has taken place, and memorial services are planned for a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Share a memory or express condolences at mohnkefuneralhome.com.
