Valores Ann Hoyt's Obituary
Edmore-Valores "Ann" (Liles) Hoyt, age 84, formerly of Battle Creek passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Ann was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 2, 1935, the daughter of Aubrey and Mary Frances Liles. Ann was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Ann graduated from Collegedale Academy in 1954. Ann married the love of her life Deryl Ronald Hoyt Sr. on August 26, 1956 in Birmingham, Alabama. Ann received her teacher degree from Western Michigan University. She taught at an 8th grade schoolhouse in Pickney, Mi 1956-1957, Battle Creek Academy 1973-1978 and North Avenue Church of God Children's Center 1985-2006. Ann enjoyed playing the piano and organ, landscaping and gardening, reaching out to her grandchildren and neighbors, baking and sharing bread, shopping, and taking walks.
Ann is survived by her children, Cheryl (Jim) Roberts of Elkhart, Indiana , Cari (David) Haus of Cedar Lake, Carla (Ovid) McPherson of Monrovia, Indiana, Deryl Hoyt Jr of Battle Creek, grandchildren , James Howard, Angela McPherson, Kara Bolenbaugh, Michael Haus, Raquel Jamieson-Lee, Laurel Barnes, Matthew Haus, and Tori Roberts. Brother Aubrey Hamilton Liles Jr, and sister Jane Liles King.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Aubrey Hamilton Liles, and Mary Frances Morton Liles.
A memorial service will take place in the future at the Urbandale Seventh-Day Adventist Church 20440 Bedford Road North Battle Creek, Michigan 49017. The interment will be at the Bedford Cemetery following the service. All are invited to a luncheon back at the church fellowship hall.
