Verda Elaine Webster's Obituary
Verda Elaine Webster, age 79, of Riverdale, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan. Verda was born March 7, 1936 in Vestaburg, the daughter of MI Frost and Bertha Elizabeth Bennett. She was raised in Vestaburg and graduated from Vestaburg High School Class of 1954.
Verda married Jimmy Webster on May 4, 1955, in Ithaca, Michigan. She was a member of M-46 Tabernacle in Riverdale since she was 13 known as Sister Hugs-A-Lot. She loved sewing, crocheting, reading, and all church activities.
Verda will be missed by her children Jay (Mary) Webster of New Jersey, Susan Webster of Riverdale, Marcella (Kenneth) Lindsay of Illinois, Betty (Mark) Wegner of Vestaburg, and Dick Webster of Mt Pleasant; twelve grandchildren James, Allen, Matthew (Maria), Sara (Mike), Jared (Michelle), Stephen, Christa (Aaron), Bonna (Dusty), Samuel, Amy, Jayson (Ellen), LeeAnna (Jason); six great-grandchildren; five siblings, Rachel (Harold) Corder of Vestaburg, Ruby Marchetti of Edmore, Sharon (Douglas) Housted of Carson City, Rosemary (George) Kraft of Sheridan, and Mable (Ruben) Herrera of California; several nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
Verda was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Webster; parents MI and Bertha Frost; seven brothers Donald, Albert, Franklin, William, Roy, Willies, and Bobbie "Robert", Frost; and one great-grandchild Herbert.
Funeral Services for Verda will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Vestaburg, MI, with Reverend Jay Webster officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.. All are invited for luncheon that will follow the service at 5:00 P.M. at the M46 Tabernacle. Memorial Contributions in Verda's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or the M46 Tabernacle.
