Vestaburg-Violet Vay (Clark) Abbott, age 84, of Riverdale passed away on October 28, 2018 at Country Friends AFC in Sumner. She was born on August 28, 1934 in Alma, the daughter of Fay and Viola (Spragg) Clark. Violet was raised in Alma and graduated from Alma High School class of 1970. Violet married Marshall "David" Abbott on June 30, 1951, at the Pastors house in Rosebush mi. Violet was employed as a Seamstress by the Cobbler Shop for ten years. She, then, owned and operated Superior Bridal Shop for 11 years. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, flea markets, and antiquing. Her passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Violet will be missed by her children Michall (Karen) Abbott of Riverdale MI, Martin (Tami) Abbott of Albany GA, Marsha (Lonnie) Divelbiss of Riverdale MI, Michelle (Brian) Vaughn of Vestaburg MI; eleven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren with one on the way; three siblings Linda Rood of St. Louis, Randy (Kirsten) Clark of Mt. Pleasant, and Beverly Clark of Alma; many nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Abbott in 2014; her parents Fay and Viola Clark; and four siblings Glen Clark, Lucille Lott, and Royce Clark, George "Tom" Clark.
Funeral Services for Violet will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor George Showers officiating at the Brigham Chapel (6055 Howard City-Edmore Rd, Vestaburg, MI 48891). The family will accept family and friends for visitation on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Brigham Chapel. All are invited to a luncheon at Seville Community Church of God in Elwell immediately following the funeral. Interment for Violet will be in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens at 3:30 P.M.
