Virginia Tribe's Obituary
Virginia "Ruth" Tribe, 96,of Big Rapids went to be with her Lord on Friday May 18, 2012. She was born on July 8, 1915 in Mecosta County, the daughter of John and Beatrice (Leonard) Dare. Ruth had been a long time member of Big Rapids Free Methodist Church. Prior to that she had been a member of and Sunday school teacher at West Grant Free Methodist Church. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Ruth was a devoted Mom, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her four children, Lyman (Nora) Tribe of Big Rapids, Florabelle Wilcox of Idlewild, Jim (Donna) Tribe of Big Rapids, Ruth Smith of Big Rapids, 24 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Ruth was prededed in death by her parents and her husband Tom, one daughter, Louise and Louise's husband Chuck Cass, four brothers, George, Bill, Clifford and Eldie Dare, plus three sisters Lenabelle Schoenborn, Irene Yax and Betty Mursch. Funeral services for Ruth will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 22, 2012 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids With Pastor Ted Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at South Grant Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Big Rapids Free Methodist Church.
