Walter Ivan Renne's Obituary
Big Rapids - Walter Ivan Renne, 77, of rural Big Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 19, 2018.
He was born April 18, 1941, in Big Rapids, the son of Paul and Marie (DePuydt) Renne, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1959.
Walter was a dairy farmer his entire life, working with his brother Peter, who passed away on April 21, 2018. He was a former member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), and the Farm Bureau, and loved taking caring of his cows. Walter was also baptized at and was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids.
Walter is survived by one sister, Sister Mary Paula Renne of Mt. St. Joseph, OH; one brother, Leo Renne of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Marlene Renne of Big Rapids. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, David, and Lawrence Renne, and sisters Louise Renne, Anne Yost, and Marian Stamper.
The Mass of Christion Burial for Walter will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018 at St Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids, with Father Michael Burt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Walter's family will greet friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
